And while the GliderSK computed altitude was pretty much always spot-on I recently bought a Fenix 5 Plus (my first Garmin watch). I've been a consistent runner/cyclist that used strava in my phone to record my activities. I was quite excited with the new elevation accuracy i would get from the altimeter until i went on my first run and noticed that the starting point from where i start all my runs was up by 80 The watch seems great, much more solid feeling than the 235, but the altimeter is just crazy! After a calibration with GPS, with no other changes it will often steadily climb up in to the tens of thousands of meters of altitude. I’m running the latest drivers and software (as recommended by Garmin support when I got in contact with them I then did a classic test where you manually calibrate the altimeter to a value off the actual one, start an activity and hopefully auto calibration will adjust the altimeter.
