I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I think the driver seat back is broken, but I'm not sure. At first I thought it might be something underneath the seat, in the back-right corner - but looking underneath the seat I don't see anything broken. Rear Seat Removal on 2019 Grand Cherokee. My son somehow dropped his AirPod under the seat itself (and under the carpet). It appears the only way to get to the location is to remove the seats themselves. My wife spotted the airpod but managed to push it further under the carpet where it can no longer be seen.

Get a needle nose and pull it down, it will extend about an inch where you can get to the zipper and unzip it. Then there is the plastic U channel that holds the backside of the cushion to the front side of it. Once you unsnap that you can get your hand up under the cushion to remove the headrest.
