I think the ~2001-2004 era XJR models were actually decently reliable in terms of making it to 100k miles. They had some timing chain tensioner issues on the 2001 model, resolved for 2002 and some water pump issues but usually not until ~150k miles. The 2000 and earler models had issues with their cylinder linings. 10.
Corvettes, 911s, M-series cars, Mustangs, etc all also have decades of name recognition and fanbases. The F-Type has been around for 9 years currently and tried to bank on the E-Type which has been missing since the 70s. That was quite a gap to try and make up in the first place.

peV7. I got to drive one last Thursday round the Fen End Jaguar track. Great fun to drive, handles v well around corners and is insanely fast. Really enjoyed my time in it. However what was v impressive is the noticeable difference between modes. Standard mode it will just cruise around like any SUV and just do the job of getting you from a to b.
Iām looking at two F Type, 15 F Type R and a 16 F Type R. 15 has 93k miles and is VERY reasonable. 16 gas 61k miles and is just a bit on the high side. I can get a very good after market warranty for either car. Do I save 5-6k bucks and see how the F Type lives with 100k miles or play it a bit safer and go with the 61k and AWD?
